Pet Food Recall: February 2013 UPDATED

Kaytee Products, Inc., is recalling several of its bird food products due to a possible Salmonella contamination. The possible Salmonella contamination is from the parsley flakes used in the bird food products. The parsley flakes come from Kaytee’s supplier, Specialty Commodities Inc. Kaytee stated it had no positive Salmonella results on its finished products to suggest possible contamination, but the company is initiating a recall in accordance with FDA guidelines. Kaytee has reported no cases of Salmonella contamination from its consumers.
