Treating a pet w...Vets are not in it for the money. Treating a pet who needs emergency care can take hours and hours and hours. There is so much joy in success and so much pain in failure. I think a big issue is patients not having the money for emergency care. Absolutely pet insurance or a savings account is necessary. As a society as a who, though, we do not have our priorities right. In the U.S. during Hurricane Katrina, officers executed pets that their owners were forced to leave behind during evacuation.
