Press release - August 31, 2014 - At PEDIGREE®, we care about all dogs and their safety and well-being is extremely important to us, and to our mission – to make a Better World for Pets. For that reason, we have announced the extension of a previous voluntary recall of PEDIGREE® Adult Complete Nutrition dry dog food products due to the possible presence of a foreign material. The voluntary recall still affects 22 bags shipped to Dollar General across four U.S. states, but it now is being expanded to 55-pound bags of PEDIGREE® Adult Complete Nutrition dry dog food products sold in Sam's Club in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

This recall is being expanded to Sam's Club in the U.S. because some of the affected production lot was originally said to be held in inventory but was instead released to consumers, which has necessitated the expansion of the recall. We are confident no other packages or retailers are affected by this recall.

A dog lost in the woods is a pet parent’s worst nightmare. Finding a lost pet can be difficult but imagine being far from home- unable to fight on the front lines to find your pet and bring her home safely.

That is what Specialist Jon Kenneth Walker- an aviation mechanic and service member in the Maryland Army National Guard- has endured. Jon’s dog Zara went missing on July 28th 2014 in Crownsville, Maryland while he was deployed in Kuwait. Now Jon is back home but still no sign of his girl Zara.

"I am currently back in the United States and got back just a few short days ago," Jon said in an August 19th correspondence. “I was activated to active duty and began my deployment last October and spent the majority of my time while deployed in Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan."

Dog elected mayor in Minnesota town

August 13, 2014- The question in the tiny town of Cormorant, Minnesota isn't “who let the dogs out?” The question is who let the dogs in- to politics that is.
Minnesota politics is not without other strange occurrences- 5-year old Bobby Tufts recently finishing up a two year turn as mayor of Dorset, Minnesota. However the public was shocked to find out that Cormorant residents had elected a dog as their first mayor.
