Adoptable of the Week: Viva

Meet Viva! Viva is a beautiful senior Pointer who is in need of a second chance from a calm and loving family. This gentle, nine year old girl spent the majority of her life living in a crate. She had little contact with people and no idea what a structured family life could be like. Fortunately Viva was given a second chance when she was rescued by New Beginnings Pet Rescue in Ottawa, Ontario. Viva is now discovering the joy that humans can bring to her life and is enjoying basic obedience training, hikes and this new found affection. Although she is still timid- a result of her previous upbringing- Viva wants to be loved and to share her love with people. She needs a pet parent that is patient and gentle- someone to help her build back her confidence and allow her to be a dog. Viva is frightened by loud noises but tolerates the sounds of children playing. Due to her aversion of loud noises Viva would be happiest away from big, booming cities and noisy traffic. She needs a calm family who can mirror her energy level. The ideal happy ending for Viva would be a senior couple who live in the country and would take her on long hikes until she was tired and ready to go to sleep beside the fireplace. Viva is fixed and vaccinated and gets along with cats and calmer dogs. If you are interested in learning more about Viva fill out an application through New Beginnings Pet Rescue.
