Keira's Provincial Park tours: High Falls in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada
Keira and daddy were embarking on a 6km hike- there and back- to High Falls in Algonquin Park, Achary- one of the largest Provincial Parks in Ontario, Canada... 


Keira was excited because 'falls' sounded like there would be water there. It was a cool fall day and the sun kept poking out in-between the grey clouds but Keira was always up for swimming... 
As the hike began Keira was really excited....
She had never been on this trail before and she couldn't wait to get to the water...
She had never smelled the smells here before...
And a little while later they came to a small swamp...
Water! Finally Keira had made it to water- they had been hiking so long...
But daddy said no. This was not the water they were going to so they continued on...
Keira was amazed at the different plants she saw...
She had never seen a purple mushroom before!
Or this weird stuff growing out of the rocks...
A sign appeared that let them know they were close to their destination....
Keira and daddy were happy High Falls was just around the corner...
The trail got rocky and daddy had to let Keira off her leash for her own safety. She came around the corner and saw it. Water!
Keira ran out to see the beautiful Barron River...
It was exactly what she was hoping for...
She had to go see it right away. She didn't even hear daddy calling her...
She just dove right in!
The water was nice and cool...
But daddy told her they still had a little ways to go. This wasn't the water he wanted to show her- they still needed to hike up some more rocks...
Keira liked navigating the rocks. She is a mountain dog! Daddy was right because soon enough she saw the water through the trees...
This is the water daddy told her...
The most beautiful water daddy had ever seen...
With a rushing waterfall...
This is High Falls daddy told her.
Daddy was sure to put Keira back on the leash once they were done navigating the rocky trail...
She was able to see the falls up close- safe and sound because she was with her daddy...
They walked around the falls to see it from different perspectives...
Some of the water was rushing fast and scared Keira...
So daddy took her to a calm spot...
Where she could watch the water flow down...
Soon it was time to hike over the big rocks again to get back to the trail...
Daddy let Keira have a break and chew on a stick. Her very own stick from Algonquin Park!
But it started to rain and they had a long hike ahead of them...
And Keira led daddy back out to the trail and they hiked the long trail back to the car...
When they were near the end of the trail Keira asked daddy if they could go back to High Falls some time...
And stop to get mommy another hiking badge?

Daddy told her yes of course but there is so much more to explore here in Algonquin Park, Achray- and all the other parts of Algonquin Park! We will come back to High Falls but don't you want to discover the rest of the park too?
As long as I get to do it with you Keira told daddy...
